J-Hope of the group BTS enlists as an active duty soldier.
On the 1st, Big Hit Music announced via the global fan community Weverse that “J-Hope will be enlisting as an active duty soldier in the Army to fulfill his military service obligations.”
The agency did not reveal the unit J-Hope is enlisting in and the specific enlistment date.
J-Hope’s enlistment is the second after elder brother Jin.
Previously, on the 16th of last month, J-Hope said via a Weverse live broadcast, “The (enlistment) date has already been announced, and it’s time to prepare.” In February, he announced his plan to enlist after completing the application to cancel his enlistment deferment. The agency said, “The entry ceremony at the boot training center is a place where a large number of soldiers and their families are together.”
In addition, J-Hope recently released a solo single ‘on the street’ in collaboration with American rapper J-Cole. The song achieved excellent results, such as reaching the top of the iTunes ‘Top Song’ chart in 80 countries worldwide and reaching number 60 on the US Billboard ‘Hot 100’ singles chart.
