[국제]Asia unlocks Corona… Only China ‘extremely strong lockdown’

The return to a ‘pre-coronavirus’ situation is accelerating as Asian countries loosen the strict COVID-19 quarantine bar that has restricted cross-border travel for the past two and a half years.

However, China is still sticking to its ‘extremely strong coronavirus containment’ policy.

Hong Kong, which has applied China’s ‘super-strong corona lockdown’, so-called zero-corona policy, announced that it will abolish regulations such as hotel quarantine for incoming travelers from the 26th.

If you look at the relaxed content, a negative rapid antigen test has been replaced by flight boarding within 24 hours, and you only need to monitor your health for three days after entering the country.

As the hotel quarantine, which lasted for up to 21 days in the past two and a half years, is lifted, access to airline ticketing sites is flooding.

Taiwan also announced an entry easing policy, including the resumption of entry to visa-free countries such as South Korea and Japan from the 29th.

The current ‘three-day self-quarantine’ and ‘four-day self-management’ will be enforced as they are, but will also be effectively abolished from next month.

Japan has also opened the entry bar.

In the meantime, we have maintained the policy of issuing group visas through travel agencies, but from the 11th of next month, individual travel is allowed without a visa.

Thailand has also decided to remove the obligation to submit vaccination and testing certificates for COVID-19 for incoming travelers from next month.

Previously, Singapore and Vietnam began to attract tourists by easing quarantine measures such as the duty to test for corona before entering the country in April and May, respectively.

Most Asian countries open the lock on entry and quarantine related to Corona, but China still adheres to the zero-corona policy and closes it on its own.
