At least 38 people, including children, were killed in a shooting at a day care center in Thailand.

The suspect is a former police officer who was dismissed last year for being part of a drug-related case.

This is the report of reporter Kim Jin-ho.

A day care center in Naklang, Arampu Province, Northeast Thailand.

At lunchtime, a former police officer entered the day care center where his child attended, shot and brandished a weapon.

The suspect is said to have killed children with a weapon and then opened fire on adults.

The attack killed at least 38 people, including 22 children.

As it was a day care center for children aged between 2 and 5, the damage to children was particularly great.

After the crime, he returned home, killed his wife and children, and then committed suicide.

If you include the suspects and their families as well as the victims, more than 40 people have died.

Thai police believe the suspect is a former police officer who was fired last year for his involvement in a drug case and that he committed the crime due to trial stress and hallucinations.

This case is considered one of the worst cases where a single offender killed children.

In 2011, right-wing extremists killed 69 people at youth summer camps in Norway.

In May of this year, 19 children were killed in a shooting at an elementary school in Texas.
