European prices soared to their highest level since statistics were compiled last month?

In June of 19 countries using the euro and the eurozone, the consumer price index jumped 8.6% from June last year.

This is the first time since the collection of relevant statistics began in 1997.

Inflation in the eurozone recorded 7.4% in April and 8.1% in May, breaking new records again and again.

The aftermath of a record rise in energy prices after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Energy prices soared 41.9% from last year.

Groceries also jumped 11.1% and service prices jumped 3.4%.

But the outlook is darker?

[기자]

That’s right.

As relations between Europe and Russia are deteriorating, it is highly likely that the supply of Russian gas will be lower than it is now.

Deutsche Bank warned in its report that “if Russia does not withdraw its gas supply cuts within a few weeks, it will have a significant impact not only on energy supply but also on economic growth, and will further exacerbate inflation.”

The European Central Bank plans to implement aggressive austerity measures like the United States in the future to contain inflation.

This is to tighten the money line by raising interest rates.

However, there are also voices of concern about the resulting economic slowdown.

The epicenter of global price instability is actually the United States.

Because of severe inflation, McDonald’s in the US is giving up promotions and promotions that offer carbonated drinks in desired sizes for just $1?

Wall Street Journal report.

The Wall Street Journal reports that McDonald’s headquarters is asking franchisees to somehow promote a dollar-a-dollar promotion until September, but many franchisees in various regions have already or will soon stop doing so, facing rising cost pressures. In the end, he said that he would go through the abolition process.

It is said that this promotional activity has never been stopped even during the 2008 global financial crisis and the long Corona 19.

The worst inflation in 40 years in the US brought about this result.

As the shortage of semiconductors for automobiles continues, it appears that American automakers are having a major setback in production?

[기자]

In the second quarter of this year, US automaker GM’s unfinished car inventory reached 95,000 units.

These inventories are said to be made once, except for those parts, because certain parts, including semiconductors, are lacking.

This unfinished car is equivalent to 16% of GM’s total sales of 582,000 units in the second quarter.

GM’s 2Q earnings are inevitably affected by these production disruptions.

In this regard, experts predict that the semiconductor shortage will continue until 2024, two years later.

Because of this, the US government is doing everything it can to restore supply chains, including this one, but the outlook is uncertain.
