[국제]U.S. commuter train rape … “I was just looking at the passengers” excommunication

The Associated Press reported on the 16th local time that a woman was sexually assaulted on a commuter train in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Police Chief Timothy Bernhardt of Upper Darby explained that he received a report of a violent incident on the Market-Frankford train line around 10 p.m. on the 13th.

At the time, an employee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (SEPTA) reported the condition of a woman on a passing train to the police, saying that it was “something strange.”

While waiting for the train at the next stop, SEPTA police found the woman and took her to the hospital, where they arrested a man.

Superintendent Bernhard said the situation was captured on surveillance cameras and that there were other people in the train.

“There were a lot of people in the field, and someone had to intervene and do something,” he lamented, “It shows the current state of our society.”

“There were other people on the train who witnessed this horrific behavior,” SEPTA said in a statement.

Chief Bernhard said the woman didn’t know who attacked her, but had provided a lot of information to the police.

According to Delaware County court records, a 35-year-old man named Piston Ngoi has been charged with sexual assault and other charges.
