Danjo Island: 8 dead after cargo ship sinks off the coast of Japan According to Chinese officials, Chinese nationals are among the dead. The cargo ship Jin Tian sank on Tuesday night. The search for the missing continues. 5 people have been rescued so far. It is reported that there is nothing to worry about in their condition.

The search is being carried out jointly between the Japanese and South Korean navies and private boats. There are said to be 22 people on board. Jin Tian’s ship sends an urgent message to the uninhabited Danjo Islands, 110 kilometers away. The ship was in South Korean waters at the time of the message.

China’s Consul General, Lu Guienjun, responded that six of the dead were Chinese citizens. But Japan has not yet confirmed the identity of the dead. There are currently no clues as to what caused the ship to sink.

Earlier, the Saudi Border Guard had rescued 25 crew members from a ship that caught fire in the Red Sea. This accident happened in the first week of October. The ship caught fire 123 nautical miles north-west of the port of Jizan in Saudi Arabia. Immediately, a distress call was sent from the ship to the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Jeddah.

The Panamanian-flagged vessel had 25 crew members of various nationalities. They were rescued from the burning ship by the Saudi Border Guard Force and brought to the port of Jizan in Saudi Arabia. A foreign ship in the area also participated in the rescue operation along with the Saudi Border Guard.
