French President Emmanuel ⁢Macron has publicly floated the idea of deploying French soldiers to Ukraine. European leaders, including Friedrich Merz (Germany’s CDU chairman), Emmanuel Macron (France), Keir Starmer (UK), and Donald Tusk (Poland), traveled to Kyiv to propose a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. They urged Russia to accept it, and the suggested start date for ⁣the ceasefire was Monday. The Kremlin is currently evaluating the proposal.

Initially, senior ⁤Kremlin⁤ officials have shown ⁢criticism of the ⁤ceasefire, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s ⁣National Security Council, dismisses ‍the peace ‍plans on the‍ platform X, criticizing the “coalition” involved. Moreover, the Kremlin has called for ⁢”serious negotiations without preconditions.”

By ⁢de-escalating the fighting, the ceasefire will hopefully allow for ⁢better outcomes.
