In a surprising turn of events, Bayern Munich’s new kit has come under scrutiny for causing discomfort among the players. On the 14th (Korea time), renowned uniform expert ‘Footy Headlines’ reported on the issue, unveiling the discomfort caused by Bayern Munich’s latest attire.

The revelation followed Bayern Munich’s unfortunate defeat against RB Leipzig in the 2023/24 DFL Super Cup, where they lost 0-3 at Germany’s Allianz Arena on the 13th (Korea time). However, it was not the defeat that became the center of attention after the game; rather, it was the team’s uniforms that sparked controversy.

Although the design received favorable reviews, incorporating the classic emblem previously used by Bayern Munich, a functionality problem arose. Shortly after the match commenced, the players’ uniforms became soaked and uncomfortably clung to their skin.

Describing the kit, ‘Footy Headlines’ criticised its lack of breathability, with one player comparing it to a plastic bag tightly sticking to the body. This issue was not isolated to the Bayern kit, as it had also been experienced during a friendly match against Qatar in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In contrast, the RB Leipzig team had no significant problems with their Nike kit during the Super Cup. It appeared to offer better ventilation and did not adhere uncomfortably to the players’ bodies.

There are doubts as to whether Adidas will address and improve the functionality of their kits, as ‘Footy Headlines’ suggests. It is likely that the same material used in the current kit will be employed for the upcoming 2024/25 season uniforms.

On the 14th (Korea time), ‘Footy Headlines’, a media specializing in uniforms, reported that ‘Bayern Munich’s new kit is causing discomfort’.

Bayern Munich lost 0-3 in the 2023/24 DFL Super Cup against RB Leipzig held at the Allianz Arena in Germany on the 13th (Korea time).

After the game, the uniforms worn by the Bayern Munich players became a hot topic. The kit received favorable reviews in terms of design, with the classic emblem used in the past by Bayern Munich embedded.

However, a problem arose with the function. The uniforms worn by the Bayern Munich squad were soaked shortly after the match started. The wet suit clung to the skin.

‘Footy Headlines’ said of the kit, ‘The breathability of the kit is not good. It stuck to my body like a plastic bag,” he said, adding, “This happened not only in the Bayern kit, but also in a friendly against Qatar in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”

On the other hand, the RB Leipzig outfit had no major problems. RB Leipzig is currently wearing a Nike kit, but compared to Bayern Munich’s kit in the Super Cup, it did not stick to the body and seemed to have good ventilation.

“It remains to be seen whether Adidas will improve the functionality of their kits,” said Footy Headlines, but we don’t think so. The same material can also be used for the 2024/25′ season uniform.
