BBQ, 33.5% increase in starting salary for college graduates… “Breaking through the crisis through talent management”

Genesis BBQ declared unconventional talent management. It is a decision to overcome the economic crisis at home and abroad by securing excellent talent with potential.

BBQ announced on the 4th that it will raise the starting salary of college graduates this year by 33.5% compared to last year. The annual salary of new college graduates (based on field operations manager and sales manager), which was 34 million won last year, will increase to a maximum of 45.4 million won.

This barbecue salary increase is the highest in the restaurant franchise industry. This is a special treatment equivalent to the average annual salary of new employees in large domestic companies. Current employees are also expected to receive double-digit pay rises.

Chairman Yoon Hong-geun made this decision after 6 months of hard work. In order to overcome economic crises at home and abroad, such as global inflation and increases in interest rates, a more daring and innovative management is deemed necessary.

He said, “It’s a choice to create a work environment that can produce the best performance by providing the best treatment in the industry.”

On the other hand, at the New Year ceremony held on the 1st, Chairman Yoon noted △Achieving No. 1 in the domestic market △Expanding into global markets △Expanding into intellectual property (IP) and content companies △Improving culture organizational agile as goal managers for this year.

BBQ plans to introduce a subscription service for the first time in the industry this year and conduct a full refresh of user-oriented web applications (apps). In addition, it will start producing content using its own IP, such as music videos and non-fungible tokens (NFT), targeting the MZ generation.

It also takes the lead in overseas expansion. BBQ currently operates approximately 700 stores in 57 countries worldwide. As they proved their competitiveness in the global market last year, they plan to hold more diverse global activities this year.

Investing in new space is also frugal. Through the ‘BBQ Village’, a complex dining and cultural space, it provides various experiences to customers and expands investment in ‘BBQ World’, which combines online and offline.
