Kolkata: Famous Bengali actress Srila Majumdar (65) passed away. He died at home in Kolkata. He was being treated for cancer for three years. Srila Majumdar was a favorite actress of directors like Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal and Prakash Jha. He has acted in 43 films.
Srila’s performance in the films of Mrinal Sen, Ekdin Pratidin, Khareij and Akaler Sandhane was highly praised. Shyam Benegal’s Mandi, Prakash Jha’s Damul and Chokh Utpalendu Chakraborty also had excellent characters. The last film is Palan which was released last year. This film is the second part of the film Ekdin Pratidin.
She voiced Srila Aishwarya Rai in Chokher Bali directed by Rituparna Ghosh.
