(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ji-yeon = On the 9th (local time), the anniversary of the end of World War II (Russia’s Victory Day), the British defense minister said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his close aides must meet the same fate as the Nazis. British media such as The Times reported that the

According to reports, Secretary of State Ben Wallace is scheduled to deliver a speech critical of Russia today at the British Army Museum.

According to a speech obtained in advance by the British press, Wallace said: “President Putin and his aides and generals have invaded Ukraine, showing what fascism and dictatorship looked like 70 years ago.”

In particular, Secretary Wallace said targeting them, “We are repeating the mistakes of the totalitarian regimes of the last century,” and emphasized that “their end must be the same in the end.”

The Nazi war criminals who had lost the war were tried at the Nuremberg Trials shortly after World War II. In the trial where 24 people were charged, 12 were sentenced to death, 3 to life imprisonment, and 4 to fixed-term imprisonment.

The speech also included pointing out the responsibilities of high-ranking Russian officers.

“Russian generals have conspired with Putin to use the proud history of their forefathers who sacrificed themselves for a higher purpose in defeating fascism,” Wallace said.

In particular, Wallace stressed that they are responsible for the huge losses on both sides of Ukraine and Russia and should face a military trial.

“The Russian government is using the Victory Day celebrations to hide its poor leadership and miscalculations in Ukraine,” Wallace said.

Putin’s invasion has failed at all stages so far, he explains, and the preparation and analysis of information was also the most thoroughly defeated.

In particular, Wallace said, “To justify this war, President Putin and his generals are going to extremes to the point of tearing apart Russia’s past and future.”

“Those who seek to use the suffering of ordinary Russians as a springboard for their imperial ambitions should be ashamed,” Wallace said.
