Corsair MP700 SSD overheating argument cannot be used without a heatsink

Corsair’s PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD, the M700, is controversial.

The MP700 is one of the few PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs available on the market, but it is almost impossible to use without a heatsink.

Corsair also advises that additional cooling such as a heat sink is required for optimal performance anyway, but if you buy a model without a heat sink, you can use it as is, so care is required.

In particular, as confirmed in the example of the MP700, the main controller of the PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD, the Python PS5026-E26, generates a lot of heat, so it is impossible to operate normally with only the said Phenomenon throttle that it happens.

Fortunately, there is no problem with the stored data itself, but it is impossible to use it without a heatsink, so Corsair and Physon have also started correcting the thermal management curve, and it is said that overheating will have solved by a firmware update.

Two foreign media outlets that recently introduced the Corsair MP700 also mentioned cooling issues and noted that care is needed as they are sold without a heatsink.
