Full closure lifted for days after fire

South of Bad Fallingbostel, the fire in a tractor-trailer loaded with resin solution caused damage to the highway. The road will be open again on Sunday.

The A7 near Bad Fallingbostel (Lower Saxony) is open again in the southbound direction after a fire late on Friday evening. A spokesman for the Heidekreis police station announced this on Sunday. The route was actually not supposed to be passable for several days.

All three lanes just behind the Bad Fallingbostel junction (kilometer 88,700) were significantly damaged by the flames. According to the information, the reason was a fire in a semi-trailer loaded with a resin solution.

Full closure causes massive disruption

Despite the diversion, drivers must expect significant traffic disruptions. In between, the Lower Saxony traffic management center spoke of a delay of around 80 minutes. The police advised people to avoid the full closure as much as possible.
