Salesforce and Google Cloud have come together to help businesses better leverage data and AI. Salesforce is positioning itself as a data company, and Google is seen as a strategy to expand its AI services to Salesforce customers.

According to TechCrunch on the 7th (local time), through this partnership, the two companies plan to help enterprise customers use their respective data and custom AI models to predict their needs.

The partnership spans products and services, including Google’s ‘BigQuery’ tool, Salesforce’s ‘Data Cloud’ and Google’s fully managed AI platform, ‘Vertex AI’.

This partnership is the second partnership following the one in 2017. The first focused mainly on analytics and big data. The two companies have since expanded on the original agreement to deepen data-sharing collaboration and build AI-infused customer service experiences and marketing tools.

Working with Google is important to Salesforce’s position as a data company. In recent months, Salesforce has also introduced generative AI tools such as EinsteinGPT and SlackGPT.

From Google’s perspective, this partnership has secured a channel to expand its big data analytics and artificial intelligence services to Salesforce’s more than 150,000 corporate customer base.

Google and Salesforce have said that the integration of Data Cloud and Google Vertex AI will start the pilot phase from July 2023 and be available to the public from October 2023. The integration of Data Cloud and BigQuery will be piloted in October 2023 and will be available to the public from February 2024.
