July Patch Update (KB5028185) Causes PC Performance Decline and Internet Issues, Users Complain

Windows 11 Update Causes Performance Issues, Users Report

Following the recent distribution of the July patch update (KB5028185) by Microsoft, several PC users have experienced a decline in performance, according to a report by TechRadar, a foreign media outlet.

The KB5028185 update includes the highly anticipated ‘Moment 3’ update for Windows 11. However, frustrated users on online communities such as Reddit continue to voice their complaints about sluggish PC performance and extended startup times even after installing the update.

One Reddit user expressed dissatisfaction, stating, “The KB5028185 update significantly prolonged reboot and startup times,” while another user lamented, “Every game and application has become slower since the update.”

Additionally, besides the decline in PC performance, there have been reports of lost Internet access and unstable Wi-Fi networks after installing the update. A spokesperson for Microsoft stated, “If users encounter these issues after installing the July cumulative update, the only available temporary solution is to uninstall the KB5028185 update.”

Interestingly, it has come to light that the persistent Windows 11 SSD slowdown issue, initially reported in March, remains unresolved in this particular update.

After installing the July patch update (KB5028185), which Microsoft began distributing last week, TechRadar, a foreign media outlet, has reported a decline in PC performance.

The KB5028185 update contains the new ‘Moment 3’ update for Windows 11. However, online communities like Reddit continue to complain about slow PC performance and startup speed after installing the update.

One Reddit user complained that “the KB5028185 update made reboot and startup times much longer,” while another complained that “every game and app started running slower after the update.”

In addition to declining PC performance, there have been reports of Internet access being lost or Wi-Fi networks becoming unstable after installing updates. The media said, “If this problem occurs after installing the July cumulative update, the only temporary solution is to uninstall the KB5028185 update.”

Meanwhile, it is known that the Windows 11 SSD slowdown issue reported since March has not been fixed in this update.
