A video showing a Korean female YouTuber being sexually harassed by a local man while traveling in India has caused controversy. Accordingly, the Indian police investigated and arrested the culprit.
According to Newsis on the 20th, police in Chinjwad, Pimpri, India arrested a man who made inappropriate physical contact with a Korean YouTuber.
YouTuber Kelly previously posted a video showing his trip to Maharashtra, India, on his YouTube channel on the 12th. In the video, Kelly chats with Indians on the street, eats local food, and goes shopping.
While Kelly was interviewing people around her in front of a shop, a local man approached her. Suddenly, the man wrapped his arm around Kelly’s shoulder. Furthermore, the man pulled Kelly close to his body as if to choke her.
When an embarrassed Kelly laughed and tried to leave, the man massaged Kelly’s shoulders with his hands and then walked out of camera angle. Kelly said, “I need to get out of here,” and “I don’t know why they’re doing that.”
As of the morning of the 20th, this video recorded over 930,000 views and is becoming a hot topic online. Indian netizens then expressed their apologies in comments on the video.
An Indian netizen left a comment saying, “Don’t be kind to a man like that. If you feel uncomfortable, you should scream or act loudly. I apologize on behalf of the man in the video.”
