Legal Doctor Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO/Lawyer: Yusuke Koshimizu; CEO/Doctor: Toru Chikazawa; hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) has raised a total of 150 million yen through a third-party allotment of new shares to be underwritten exclusively by individual investors both in Japan and overseas.
Funding Background
We are the first medical/legal company in Japan* founded by a doctor and a lawyer. We will deliver a new type of infrastructure to society through “medical/legal.”
Now that the collapse of health insurance medical treatment is only a matter of time, we believe that it is necessary to practice “the eternal trend” by adopting new systems and mechanisms while adhering to the existing medical system and seamlessly leading the entire industry in a better direction. Since our founding, we have provided support primarily to clinics and hospitals that provide community-based medical care through traditional health insurance medical treatment.
With this funding, we will create the first medical-legal institution in Japan* that combines a clinic run by doctors and lawyers with a law firm. Medicine and law are like water and air, both essential to society, and both are infrastructure. Until now, the medical and legal industries have been separated, and two-way communication and collaboration between the industries has been weak. Together with individual investors, we will break down the barriers between these industries and establish “Legal Doctor” as a new social infrastructure for the public.

“Legal Clinic” is a platform that provides the functions of a clinic and a law office, unifying online medical treatment and online legal consultation. Furthermore, the “your personal doctor/lawyer” system makes it possible to provide immediate medical and legal services to the public 24 hours a day. Because we work with many lawyers and doctors, we can handle a wide range of legal cases and provide medical care as a general medical clinic throughout the country, including rural and remote areas. Our company has provided full support from the establishment to operation of over 20 medical institutions, from privately run clinics to hospitals that are incorporated as medical corporations. To begin with, many doctors are unfamiliar with the law, and even more surprisingly, many large hospitals and clinics do not have legal advisors or their legal advisors do not function properly. Legal matters tend to be overlooked in the early stages of a business, but the larger a clinic or hospital gets, the more likely it is that problems between patients and doctors, and various problems of all sizes within the organization will arise. Especially in the aesthetic medical industry, there have been cases where delayed legal response has resulted in clinics going out of business.
In one case, the financial situation of a clinic on the verge of closing was significantly improved thanks to detailed support from our doctors and lawyers who have experience opening clinics. In addition, our two representatives are a doctor and a lawyer who are both nationally qualified and have experience starting their own businesses, and we have earned the trust of our clients by being able to provide genuine support for management that is not just pretty talk.

Until now, the “20% justice” has been a problem for many years, with only about 20% of the population being able to receive legal services, mainly due to financial reasons. In addition, in depopulated areas, sufficient medical care cannot be provided to the public due to a lack of medical resources.
Through our services, we will remove the financial and geographical barriers that prevent people from using legal and medical services, and create an environment in which everyone can receive appropriate support equally when they need it. We sincerely hope that our efforts will be a step toward realizing “100% justice” and “balanced medical services.”
