The body will be taken from the Sao Paulo hospital on Monday morning. A price will be set in the middle of the Belbiro pitch. The public will watch from 10.30 am Brazilian time until Tuesday morning. The casket will then be transported through the city of Santos. Meanwhile, it will be placed in front of Pele’s mother’s residence. Pele’s 100-year-old mother, Celeste, lies in bed. Burial will be in the Memorial Necropole Ecumenical Cemetery, Santos. Entry is for family members only.

Pele was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. The tumor was removed in September. He was admitted to hospital again on November 29 this year.
