Powerful teams from all over the country will compete at the JRA Nakayama Racecourse. In conjunction with this home game, SAKURA FUNABASHI will start a crowdfunding campaign titled “Support Project for Children.” Based on his own experience, the owner, Shinagawa, aims to provide sports opportunities to underprivileged children. This project aims to purchase a mobile basketball court and expand the circle of support involving the entire region.

Shinagawa, the owner of SAKURA FUNABASHI, once quit his job as a civil servant to pursue his dream of becoming a professional basketball player. This team was founded by him after overcoming the contract fraud and hardships he experienced along the way. Shinagawa’s wish is to give children dreams and hopes through the power of sports. With this home game as an opportunity, we will take a new step towards realizing that dream.

“I experienced neglect as a child. I want to provide children in such circumstances with an opportunity to grow through basketball,” says Shinagawa. Through crowdfunding, we would like to work with local people and businesses to create an environment where children can freely enjoy basketball.
