IMABARI, Japan (AP) — A unique concert featuring pianist Saeki Makiri Minami and accordionist Julian Bourton is scheduled for may 7⁣ in Imabari. The performance showcases the talents of Saeki, an​ Imabari native now based in Paris, and ‌Bourton, a rising star in the French⁣ music⁣ scene.

Saeki Makiri Minami, Pianist

Saeki was born in ​Imabari, Ehime Prefecture. Her​ early studies⁢ were with Hirano Kazue and Ikaku ‍Tomoko. At 12, she began studying with ⁢Takano Yoko, a former student of Italian master Michelangeli and an international competition winner. Following Takano’s advice, Saeki moved to France at ⁤15 after completing junior high school.
