On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Hotel New Otani Makuhari will hold a special night to celebrate the beginning of the new year, the “New Year Dinner Concert”, which will be heartily presented by Saori Yuki and Shoko Yasuda. At this event, which marks its 30th anniversary this year, you can enjoy a variety of famous songs that will be passed down to the next generation, including nursery rhymes and chants. With the familiar voices of two people who are in perfect harmony with each other, and this year, Yuki Matsuzaka will also be joining us, we will deliver an even more wonderful and attractive concert.

■Yasuda Shoko
Completed master’s program at Tokyo University of the Arts. Nikikai member, Tokyo Chamber Opera Doujin.
Studied at the Juilliard School in New York and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
After 18 years as a lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, he retired to concentrate on concert activities.He has also made great achievements as a voice trainer, and many of his students are active in musical performers such as “Shiki Theater Company.”
The concert, which started in 1986 with his younger sister, Saori Yuki, has continued to be performed both in Japan and abroad, and will reach its 38th year in 2024.
She also appears at lectures and child-rearing seminars because she wants to pass on to the next generation the many songs she sings in beautiful Japanese about the changing of Japan’s four seasons, caring for small animals, and caring for others.
Twice in 2013 and 2021, she received an award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in recognition of her efforts to broadly convey the beauty of the Japanese language and the Japanese spirit through nursery rhymes and songs.
■Saori Yuki
Debuted in 1969 with “Dawn Scat”. As an actress, she has been active in a wide range of activities, including appearing in movies and dramas, hosting, and variety shows.
In 1983, she appeared in the movie “Kazoku Game” and won the Best Actress Award at the Mainichi Film Contest.
In the fall of 2011, he released the collaboration album “1969” with the American jazz orchestra Pink Martini. It was released and distributed in over 50 countries around the world and became a worldwide hit. He has received numerous awards, including the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Art Encouragement Award, in recognition of his efforts to spread the appeal of Japanese popular songs around the world.
Received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in the fall of 2012.

2023 Yuki Saori special concert “New Me” will be held
March 2024 marks the 55th anniversary of their debut with “Dawn Scat”, and on April 17th, they released a new song “Life is Wonderful”. In May, a commemorative lecture will be held at the Japanese Cultural Institute in Paris, France. “Yuki Saori 55th Concert ~New Me~” is scheduled until next spring.
■Yuki Matsusaka
Debuted in October 2015 with “Furusato Return”.
After that, she released two singles and one mini album of folk songs.
In 2019, he received the Japan Composers Association Music Festival 2019 Encouragement Award.
Her smooth voice and ability to sing everything from folk songs to enka songs and opera have earned her the nickname “super hybrid singer,” and she has garnered a lot of attention and attention.
