Saudi Crown Prince Urges End to Israel-Hamas Conflict

In a significant diplomatic move, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed called for an immediate cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hamas at the Saudi Africa Summit.

The call for peace was echoed in a joint statement adopted at the summit, underscoring the urgency of ending the conflict that has seen civilian casualties and violations of international law.

Speaking at the summit, Crown Prince Mohammed condemned the Israeli authorities’ military attacks and stressed the need to halt the forced displacement of Palestinians, calling for an end to the conflict and a resolution to the plight of Palestinians.

International Support for Peace

The summit, attended by several African leaders and the Egyptian foreign minister, emphasized the need to cease military operations in Palestine and the protection of civilians.

The joint statement further urged an end to the Israeli occupation and called for intensified efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution based on a two-state coexistence policy.

The appeal also underscored the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the 1967 border.
