MeeNoi: Creating Music with Sincerity
MeeNoi recently held her first solo concert in Japan, “2024 meenoi 1st Fan Concert in Tokyo,” on September 15th. We had the opportunity to interview her about her first solo concert in Japan and the music she creates.
First Solo Concert in Japan
MeeNoi’s first solo concert in Japan was a huge success, with fans showing their love and support for the artist. When asked about her thoughts on the concert, MeeNoi expressed her gratitude and happiness.
“Before the performance, I felt the feelings of each and every fan more than I had expected, and I was able to spend a wonderful time. I hope to see you again next time.”
Atmosphere Among Japanese Fans
MeeNoi was impressed by the unique and warm-hearted nature of her Japanese fans. Despite the language barrier, fans were able to communicate with each other through eye contact and non-verbal language.
“Everyone was unique and warm-hearted. Because we couldn’t speak the same language, it was refreshing to see them have to communicate with each other through eye contact and non-verbal language, but it also made me feel a little sad.”
Preparation for the Performance
MeeNoi focused on preparing for the performance, especially since it was the first time she would be performing her new songs live. She was a little nervous but was able to deliver a great show.
“This performance was the first time we performed our new songs, but we didn’t have many opportunities to perform them live, so I was a little nervous. Since it was the first time we were showing them on stage, we prepared especially carefully.”
Impressions from the Performance
MeeNoi was impressed by the Japanese fans’ ability to speak Korean and their enthusiasm during the performance.
“Japanese fans can speak Korean very well! That was the thing that surprised me the most. A lot more people came than I expected, and I felt like I was actually encouraged by the fans. To be honest, I was a bit worried, so I’m really grateful.”
Interaction with Fans
MeeNoi had the chance to interact with her fans during the performance and was touched by their gifts and messages.
“A fan told me, ‘The concert was so much fun that I hurt my hand!’ At first, I wondered what that meant, but it turned out that the fan had written ‘사랑해: I love you’ on the palm of his hand and showed it to me. I was very surprised.”
Future Plans and Message to Japanese Fans
MeeNoi wants to continue creating music with sincerity and approach her work with a more serious attitude.
“I want to continue working with pure feelings like I am now. Whether it’s music or other activities, I want to approach things more sincerely and seriously, rather than trying to ‘show off.'”
MeeNoi also expressed her gratitude to her Japanese fans and promised to work harder to convey her feelings to them.
“I would like to work with more interest so that I can convey these feelings to my Japanese fans.”
