Rakuten Eagles Launch “TOHOKU SMILE ACTION” Baseball Classes for Elementary School Students

Rakuten Baseball Club, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of “TOHOKU SMILE ACTION” baseball classes, as part of its activities to promote sports and develop young people in the Tohoku region. The classes will be held in six prefectures, starting in Yamagata Prefecture, and will provide technical instruction to elementary school students who belong to baseball teams in each prefecture.

What is “TOHOKU SMILE ACTION”?

“TOHOKU SMILE ACTION” is a project launched by the Rakuten Eagles to contribute to the promotion of sports, including baseball, and the development of young people in the Tohoku region. The project aims to bring smiles to the faces of children in Tohoku through school visits, participation in festivals, and the “Rokken Thanksgiving Festival” held during the off-season. With the slogan “Make children smile with the power of sports!”, the team will work to liven up activities throughout Tohoku.

Outline of “TOHOKU SMILE ACTION Baseball Class”

■ Content

The classes will include a warm-up and ice-breaker session, followed by technical instruction on batting and defense. The contents may vary depending on the venue.

Approximately 50 elementary school students who belong to baseball teams from each prefecture will participate in the classes.
