If only the delays could have been avoided, we would have successfully shot the movie in Sri Lanka itself. Nonetheless, Lanka remains an absolute favorite of mine.”

AK Sajan has now spoken about casting Suresh Gopi in films including Lanka, which is considered a new experiment in Malayalam cinema, and his friendship with him in an interview given to Khan Channel Media.

Talking about his friendship with Suresh Gopi, AK Sajan said that it was easy to communicate with actor Suresh Gopi. ‘Lanka is my favorite film. The film had some limitations. That film was supposed to be shot in Sri Lanka.’

‘After we went to Lanka and looked at the location, there was an explosion and we couldn’t go there because the visa was broken. So later that film was shot in Kasargod. Can’t go out. Most of the scenes had to be shot inside a house. The film was shot with a lot of stock footage.’

‘To tell the truth then that film should not have been made. The story was done with enthusiasm. Suresh also demanded grimly. Had it been delayed, it could have been shot in Sri Lanka itself. We couldn’t get that movie to its full potential. But Lanka is my favorite film,” says AK Sajan.

At that time, AK Sajan even used some scenes that were not at all familiar to Malayalam cinema in Lankan cinema. After talking about Lanka, AK Sajan spoke about his friendship with Suresh Gopi. ‘It is easy to communicate with Suresh Gopi.’

‘Communication is easy with heroes including Mammooka and not Suresh. Even if you tell Suresh a story while drinking coffee, Pulli will quickly understand. Naturally always meets with free and sure. He is my good friend.’
