Timeless Revival: Brooks Brothers Unveils the Grand Finale of its Iconic Archive Collection
Since its founding in New York in 1818, Brooks Brothers has been advocating high-quality, refined American traditional style for over two centuries. The masterpieces that Brooks Brothers has created over its long history of over 200 years, such as the No. 1 sack suit, polo collar (button-down) shirts, and polo coats, are loved by many people around the world.
The Archive Collection, which was released in the Fall/Winter 2023 season, is a special collection that revives selected items from among many masterpieces by adding modern technology and essence rather than keeping them in the original form at the time of their release. The final collection, which will be the culmination of the collection, is based on the concept of the ANGLO AMERICAN style and culture that was established in its golden age in the 1970s and continues to fascinate people across the ages. The collection is edited by mixing British elements such as tweedy materials, British check patterns, and attention to detail with the Ivy League look of the East Coast of the United States.
The men’s collection includes an authentic Harris Tweed Norfolk jacket inspired by the Norfolk jacket worn by Scott Fitzgerald, a leading American writer in the 1920s, and an American-made double-breasted trench coat depicted in a catalog from the 1980s. The trench coat is faithful to the original design, with a higher waist than the current model and a shiny gold removable liner. The Shetland sweater, which was very popular in 2023FW, is now available in three new colors: green, cream, and orange, in addition to the navy and gray that continue to be available. While adopting the same saddle shoulder design as the original, it has been updated to a modern style with a whole garment method and a single knit crew neck. The duffle coat is made of triple pile herringbone wool from British company Malarius using a loom from a fabric manufacturer that was once used by many luxury fashion houses, and follows the silhouette of the 1990s. The warm camel color is attractive.
The women’s collection is a reproduction of archive items owned by creative director Michael Bastian. It features pants and skirts in a muted burgundy and deep green tartan check pattern (Lindsay tartan), and a cardigan made from British Shepley yarn, which has a fluffy texture.
The items in this collection come with limited edition original tags featuring a vintage logo.
The collection will include men’s items (three jacket styles, three ties, polo collar shirts, sweaters in three colors, duffle coats, trench coats, pants in two colors, and hats) and women’s items (cardigans, skirts, and pants), and will be available at Brooks Brothers stores nationwide and on the official e-commerce site from Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
