On September 5, 2024, Liu Can, a popular fitness blogger and bodybuilding athlete, tragically lost his life in a drowning accident at the “One Line Sky Canyon” in Nanchuan District, Chongqing. The incident occurred at an undeveloped tourist attraction, which has since been blocked off by local authorities, and tourists are no longer allowed to enter.
Liu Can was a well-known figure in the fitness community, having won multiple bodybuilding competitions and boasting over 100,000 fans on a popular short video platform. He was also an active anime role player on social media.
According to a message posted on Liu Can’s account, he passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 27, due to drowning. A farewell funeral ceremony was held on September 7, 2024, and his body was cremated at the local Jiangnan Funeral Home.
The “One Line Sky Canyon” is a scenic spot located in Qianxing Village, Toudu Town, Nanchuan District, approximately 150 kilometers away from the main urban area of Chongqing. The area is known for its natural beauty, with clear springs, waterfalls, and turquoise pools. However, the lack of safety facilities and management has raised concerns among locals and tourists alike.

Local residents and outdoor enthusiasts have expressed their concerns about the safety of the area, particularly for non-professional tourists. Qian Zhong, an outdoor enthusiast, suggested that the local government strengthen the management of undeveloped areas such as the Yitiantian Canyon and add warning signs to prevent accidents.
The local authorities have since taken action, blocking off the area and prohibiting tourists from entering. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and responsible tourism practices.
