Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ Arrives in Theaters
Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, Wuthering Heights, was released in cinemas on February 13, 2026. The film, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, offers a contemporary take on the enduring love story set in 18th-century England.
The romantic drama centers on the complex and often destructive relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, childhood friends whose bond is tested by societal constraints and personal demons. The film premiered at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on January 28, 2026.
Alongside Robbie and Elordi, the cast includes Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell. This adaptation marks Fennell’s third feature film, following her critically acclaimed works Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.
Wuthering Heights joins a long line of screen adaptations of Brontë’s novel. Previous versions include a 1970 film featuring Timothy Dalton, a 1992 iteration starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, and an ITV adaptation with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley.
