Seamless Gameplay Across Devices
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Xbox announced teh widespread rollout of cross-device play history. This update allows players to continue their games where they left off, regardless of whether they switch between Xbox consoles, the Xbox Ally handheld, or PC.
The feature,which initially began testing with Xbox Insiders last month,now extends to all Xbox users. It also integrates cloud-playable games into the recently played list, providing a unified experience for all Xbox titles.
Unified Game Library
According to the official Xbox blog post, “every cloud-enabled title, from original Xbox classics to Xbox Series X|S exclusives, is now in one place whether you own it or play through Xbox Game Pass.” This consolidation simplifies access to a wider range of games.
Accessing Play History
On Xbox consoles, players can find their recently played games through the “Play history” tile on the home screen.The Xbox PC app also features a “Play history” tab within the “most Recent” section, and recent titles will appear in the user’s library.
