[국제]WHO: “There are no reports of omicron-related deaths… Currently, the dominant species is delta”

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on the 3rd local time that it had not yet seen a death report related to Omicron, a new mutant of COVID-19.

WHO spokeswoman Christian Lindmeier told reporters in Geneva, Switzerland: “Omicrons may increase and we may reach a point where we become dominant, but at this point the dominant variation is still delta.”

WHO chief scientist Dr Sumiya Swaminatan said in an interview with Reuters on the same day, regarding the Omicron response, “We have to be prepared and cautious, but there is no need to panic.” Because there is,” he said.
