Although the Corona 19 epidemic has not stopped, the movie ‘Mogadishu’ is gaining popularity again in the stagnant theater district.
Another blockbuster ‘Sinkhole’ is scheduled to be released next week, so I’m interested in whether Korean movies will be a hit at the box office.

My house, which I barely prepared after 11 years, suddenly falls 500 meters below the ground one day.
The film is based on the disaster of a sinkhole, but focuses on the stories and comics of the characters.
The masters of comic acting, such as Cha Seung-won, Kim Sung-kyun, and Lee Kwang-soo, have united.

Following ‘Mogadishu’, it is the second major Korean film to be released despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘Mogadishu’, which was released earlier, surpassed 1 million viewers thanks to word of mouth, and became the highest-grossing film among Korean films this year.
The number of weekend audiences, which had been decreasing due to strengthening social distancing, also increased by more than 25% due to the influence of ‘Mogadishu’.
Currently, in the metropolitan area, the theater must be closed after 10 p.m. due to the 4th level of social distancing.
About half of the 570 theaters nationwide are concentrated in the metropolitan area, meaning that it is not easy to gather audiences.
If the box office continues this weekend, it could be a double hit with ‘Sinkhole’, which will be released next week.
‘The Suicide Squad’, which has taken over the box office in 64 countries around the world, is also closely chasing ‘Mogadishu’ and attracting audiences.
In the summer vacation, ‘The Boss Baby 2’ and the Doraemon theatrical version ‘Jingu’s New Dinosaur’ are also waiting for family audiences.
