Afsana Alleges Brutal Police Beating in Husband’s Death

Wife Accuses Police of Brutality in Nooranad Case

Nooranad, Alappuzha – In a shocking revelation, Afsana, the wife of the late Naushad, has accused the police of subjecting him to vicious beatings leading to his death. Naushad, who had gone missing from Pathanamthitta a year and a half ago, was recently discovered buried at Kalanjur Padam Vandanipadinjetat Pathanamthitta of Thommankuth in Thodupuzha.

Afsana alleges that she was not only brutally assaulted by the police but also had pepper spray forcibly administered into her mouth. Making disturbing claims, she declares that her father-in-law will be implicated in the case and face capital punishment. Additionally, she points out that the burial sites were all identified by the police themselves. Prior to delivering Naushad’s body to their rented residence, unidentified individuals had dug holes within the premises. Afsana intends to take legal action against the police for their alleged misconduct.

Yesterday, Afsana, who had been arrested in connection with Naushad’s murder, was granted bail and returned home. Recounting the horrors she endured while in custody, she reveals, “They subjected us to severe beatings, even the female officers. My back was mercilessly pounded, resulting in multiple wounds all over my body. I am unable to divulge further details. When questioned about Naushad’s fate, I initially claimed ignorance. However, under duress, I was coerced into confessing to the crime, as they threatened to harm my children. They deprived us of food and water for two agonizing days, refusing to let us sleep. Finally, they whisked us away in a vehicle during the night, arriving at the police station at 3 am.” Afsana further asserts that when she went to collect evidence, the police conveniently led her to the exact spot where the body had been buried, further fueling her suspicion.

In response to Afsana’s allegations, Konni DySP T. Rajapan Rauthar dismissed her claims, asserting that at no point had the police declared Naushad’s case a homicide. He firmly maintains that confessing crimes to the police was unnecessary.
