[Health Channel/Comprehensive Report]The child started crying loudly within a few minutes of his mother leaving? The American Academy of Pediatrics states that separation anxiety is a normal stage of children’s emotional development and requires care in a loving and consistent manner. In order to solve the problem as a whole, it is recommended that parents adopt three methods, including: “When leaving the child, inform the child in a realistic manner and tell him that he will be back soon”, “When leaving, use toys and other methods to distract the child’s attention”, ” When you go out at night, you can ask a familiar nanny to take care of you.”

The “American Academy of Pediatrics Parenting Website” reports that starting from the age of one and a half, children may develop separation anxiety, leading to disrupted sleep at night. During this stage (which may last several months), the child may wake up multiple times and cry anxiously for both parents, or (more commonly) one parent. Separation anxiety usually goes away around the age of two, and until then, your child may need to be comforted several times a night.

Inform the child whereabouts, divert attention, hire a trustworthy nanny

●No matter how old your children are, when parents must leave them, let them know in a matter-of-fact way. Even if you only enter the other room for a minute, tell them, “I’ll be right back.”

●When leaving, create a diversion to distract the child. The nanny can help solve this problem by sharing new toys and bathing the baby. Parents should then say goodbye to their children and leave as soon as possible.

●When you go out at night, try to ask a familiar nanny to take care of you. If you must hire a new person, have him arrive before the child goes to bed and allow a little time to get familiar with the child. Many parents often employ regular nannies, and children often accept this separation more easily when it is part of a routine.
