Actress Kim So-eun talked about her various goals for this year as a long-standing actress in her 18th year, along with her aspirations for the character ‘Clear Eyes’ in a recent drama.
I recently met Kim So-eun, who finished the KBS2 weekend drama ‘Three Siblings Bravely’ at Diamantino Apgujeong, a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Kim So-eun is an 18-year-old actress who debuted in the drama ‘Sister Sea’ in 2005. Man’, ‘A Nice Windy Day’, ‘A Thousand Kisses’, ‘Maui’, and ‘Our Gap-soon ‘. In addition, he has been active on screens like ‘The Distributors’, which was released last year, ‘Fly Daddy’, ‘Elegant World’, ‘Girl Ghost Story’, ‘Dizziness’, and ‘Are You in Love’.
In ‘Three Brothers and Sisters Bravely’, she took the role of the second Kim So-rim, showing a strong but warm character, and gained interest from home viewers through her love line with Kim Seung-soo (played by Shin Moo -young), which received the modifier ‘School Shaolin’.
Through an interview, Kim So-eun promised to achieve more achievements and dreams in 2023, which started with “Three brothers or sisters are brave.”
– From ‘Autumn Yang’ to ‘Teacher Shaolin’, it is highlighted as the queen of the adapter. What is your wish?
▲ It is very valuable and I am grateful. Being called ‘School Shaolin’ on set and being spoken of as ‘Boys over Flowers’ by the MZ generation once again made me feel very happy.
-Recommended work after ‘Boys Over Flowers’?
▲ I knew the youngest staff at the location was attracting attention again by saying, “I’m watching the Flower Boy reruns intently.”
Even when I want to be an enemy, I am grateful and smile. Judging from the things I appeared in, after ‘Flower Boy’, it would be better to continue watching from Empress Cheonchu, which was my first adult acting role, to Maui, and Night Scholar.
In particular, ‘The Empress Dowager Cheonchu’ is different because it was a work that my parents enjoyed emotionally enough to empathize with.
-The dating with Song Jae-rim as an algorithm in the past is also discussed.
▲ I have a fun memory of that time. Also, while working together in the drama ‘Our Gap-soon’ and communicating for a while, it became a ‘close sister’ level.
It’s still fun to watch sometimes.
– The secret to continuous acting?
▲ The biggest thing is that my family supported me without any objection. Also, the joy and sense of accomplishment I feel when I research a new character is the same.
I feel like I’ve been doing this consistently because I feel fun and energetic on set. As a result, I am always happy when acting non-stop.
-You change your character again and again through constant work activities How do you get out of your previous role?
▲ There are also things like golf and mountain climbing, but whenever possible, I usually go on a trip whenever I finish a project.
Therefore, I intend to go on a trip with entertainment as ‘Mimi Trip: My Package’ (tentative title) to be prepared in April.
– Tested all the main roles in terrestrial weekend dramas. What do you think is the reason for that choice?
▲ It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a weekend drama, and it’s a pandemic, so I haven’t been around except for the filming set, so I haven’t heard feedback, but hearing that is new.
The reason I chose weekend dramas was because of the weight given to Gap Soon (laughs) and weekend dramas, which I chose because they were title roles.
Conversely, if it is a selection point, is it familiar from being active since childhood? I think it’s good to try to show sophistication amidst that familiarity.
-What do you think about the perception that you are an actor with a strong soft and good image?
▲ I have played good and bad roles, and I am open to all genres and characters.
Actors can transform anytime, anywhere, and I don’t think I just have a good image.
– Criteria for selecting works?
▲ In the past, if I chose something I could do well and was confident in, nowadays I want to experience something new.
I want to play the role of ‘clear-eyed madman’ as it is called in the psychopathic atmosphere of the main character in ‘Your Everything’ Netflix or ‘When I Dropped My Smartphone’ by Teabing.
– Communicating with fans outside of the play?
▲ Consider YouTube. It’s something that requires diligence, so I’m determined to do it.
I am thinking of a travel theme to show a free atmosphere other than being an actor.
-What are your plans for this year?
▲ I wanted to play a role I hadn’t done before, so I told the company to bring everything I could.
First of all, I will start with the fashion program Style Me, which I am doing now, and the travel entertainment that I will be filming in April.
I want to do OTT and other works, and personally, I want to enjoy life through golf and travel.
