According to the announcement, Tesla, Inc’s recall report shows that Tesla, Inc filed an application with the U.S. Highway Safety Administration on November 21, 2021, and recalled production dates in the United States from June 16, 2020 to November 10, 2021. The specific reason for this recall of the product: due to insufficient water level of the quenching tank in a heat treatment production line, individual products were not completely immersed in the quenching liquid, resulting in the strength of the steering knuckle that may not meet the design requirements. According to the company’s test results, the probability of defects in this batch of suspicious products is about 0.2%-1.0%.
3. Description of other relevant circumstances: The company’s recalled products only support Model Y models, and do not involve other Tesla models, nor do they involve other customers’ models.
Tuopu Group stated in the announcement that the company attaches great importance to this recall and has taken the following response measures to actively cooperate and assist customers in carrying out the recall:
1. The heat treatment production line has been rectified and improved to ensure that the product is fully quenched, and at the same time, 200% of the product hardness is tested.
2. 132 inspection instruments for identifying risky parts have been provided to service centers across Tesla, which can quickly complete the inspection and replace the identified defective products.
