ABU DHABI: Airlines from the United Arab Emirates canceled some flights and diverted others as countries in the region closed their airspace following Iran’s airstrikes against Israel. Dubai Airlines canceled some flights to Amman and Tel Aviv and diverted others. Two flydubai planes traveling to Amman in Jordan and Tel Aviv in Israel had to return to Dubai. Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has also announced that some services to Tel Aviv and Amman will be cancelled. from Amman to Abu Dhabi.
Iran launched the attack after seven Revolutionary Guard officers were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Damascus mission on April 1. Airspace over Israel, Jordan and Iraq was closed following the incident.
