Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter (hereinafter referred to as “Studio Tour Tokyo”), which celebrated its first anniversary in June this year and allows visitors to experience the behind-the-scenes production of the world-renowned films “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts”, held a “Back to Hogwarts Countdown” today, September 1st (Sunday), with the participation of approximately 300 Harry Potter fans gathered at Platform 9 and 3/4, along with Motoki Hirakata, who plays Harry Potter in the stage production “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”. The “Back to Hogwarts” Day sees various events held around the world, and in the UK, the birthplace of the “Harry Potter” series, many fans gather at Kings Cross Station in London every year to celebrate the day.
■ “Back to Hogwarts Countdown” Report
Today’s special guest, Motoki Hirakata, who plays Harry Potter in the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” visited Studio Tour Tokyo for the first time and said, “I’ve always wanted to come here because I’ve seen everyone having fun on social media. Before this event, I was shown around the tour a little, but there wasn’t enough time. I’d like to come here again on my day off!” He also spoke enthusiastically about his encounter with the Harry Potter series, saying, “When I was in high school English class and I was really sleepy, my English teacher showed me “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” and I fell in love with the Harry Potter series.”
Then, the main event began with a 10-second countdown to the departure time of the Hogwarts Express. As soon as it struck 11 o’clock, fans enthusiastically shouted “Back to Hogwarts!”, and Platform 9 3/4 was filled with excitement.
