(Istanbul = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Seung-wook = Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “We will definitely retake the territory occupied by Russia.”
According to the Associated Press, President Zelensky made the remarks at a joint press conference after meeting with Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova during a visit to Kiiu on the 31st (local time).
“Our plan is clear,” Zelensky said.
“There is no set time until we can retake our territories,” he added.
President Zelensky also said he welcomed the EU’s additional sanctions on Russia.
He said, “We welcome the EU’s sixth sanctions against Russia, but it is difficult to understand that 50 days have passed since the fifth and the sixth sanctions were implemented.”
On the same day, the EU announced the sixth sanctions against Russia, the main content of which is to ban the import of Russian crude oil by sea.
After the meeting, President Zelensky wrote in a statement on social media, saying, “I am grateful for Slovakia’s strong support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Slovakia and Ukraine share common values.”
“You are paying a very high price to defend your country,” Chaputova said on social media. “Slovakia is with you.”
