Journalists Arrested by Mob in Mymensingh
Two prominent journalists, Mozammel Haque Babu and Shyamal Dutta, were apprehended by a mob while attempting to cross the border into India through Dhobaura in Mymensingh.
On Monday, September 16, around 6:00 AM, the mob intercepted a private car carrying four individuals, including the journalists, near the border between De Maijpara and Porakandulia.
The arrested individuals include Mozammel Haque Babu, CEO of Ektar Television; Shyamal Dutta, Editor of Dainik Bhorer Kagaz Patrika; Mahbubur Rahman, Senior Correspondent of Ektar Television; and a private car driver.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhobaura police station, Chan Mia, confirmed the incident to Jago News.
According to Chan Mia, the arrested individuals are currently in custody, and legal proceedings are underway.
