I can see the spirit of the July revolution in the world of sports: Councilor Asif

After Bangladesh whitewashed Pakistan in the first Test, Asif Mahmud, adviser to the government’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that we can see the spirit of the July revolution in the field of sports as well.

He made this comment in response to a question from reporters at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday (September 3) regarding the ongoing labor protest.

When reporters asked the sports advisor’s opinion about Pakistan’s whitewash, Asif Mahmud said, Bangladesh has never won a Test match with Pakistan in history. The fact that we whitewashed Pakistan by winning two matches in the series in that place is certainly a credit to us and I congratulate and best wishes to the national team.

He said, we can see the spirit of the July Revolution in sports. In fact our players represent us in the world court. We have seen it in SAAF U20 and also in cricket. We are working and will continue to work on how to maintain it and we can do better in the future.
