IPL team Punjab Kings have named young Australian pacer Nathan Ellis in their squad. The Hobart Hurricanes’ Ellis has been named in the Punjab Kings squad following reports that Australia’s Rye Richardson and Riley Meredith will not be in the IPL. Ellis has played two T20 matches for Australia. He made his debut against Bangladesh this month, scoring a hat-trick in the same match. Ellis Riley Meredith, who was part of the reserve team, was included in the main squad and then in the playing XI after being ruled out due to injury. Ellis is also a reserve player for the T20 World Cup.
Along with Richardson and Meredith, Kolkata Knight Riders star Pat Cummins and Royal Challengers star Kane Richardson have also withdrawn from the IPL. The players had recently withdrawn from the limited overs series against the West Indies and Bangladesh. The withdrawal was for personal reasons. It is reported that he is withdrawing from the IPL for the same reason.

The rest of the IPL 14 season will be played in Dubai from September 19. There are 31 matches left. The BCCI has said that it will be held in three venues.
The matches will be played at Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah stadiums. The final and first qualifier will be played in Dubai. The final will be held on October 15 and the first qualifier on October 10. The eliminator will take place on October 11 and the second qualifier on October 13 at the Abu Dhabi Stadium.
The BCCI has approved a bubble-to-bubble transfer in the second quarter of the IPL. Therefore, players playing in national competitions in different countries can participate directly in the IPL. Players can enter the IPL bubble without a six-day quarantine.
