With the expectation that the next MacBook Air will be released in 2022 one after another, detailed rumors about its specifications have been reported.

The source of this rumor is Dylandkt, a well-known leaker (who sends information about unreleased products of interest). Dylandkt also hit the predictions for the new MacBook Pro with the same chips on the 14-inch and 16-inch models.

According to Dylandkt’s tweet, the new model may simply be called the “MacBook” and will be released in mid-2022. Like the new MacBook Pro, it has a MagSafe charging connector, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a USB-C port, and a 30W power adapter, but is said to be fanless (similar to the current Air).

Also, the new MacBook Air has the same color variations as the 24-inch iMac, and the bezel and keyboard around the screen will be “off-white with full-size function keys (close to white but not white)”. That is.

Regarding the design, it is similar to the new MacBook Pro, but “thinner and lighter”. In addition, the current model can only connect one external display, but the new model says that at least two will be available.

It’s unclear if the screen has a notch similar to the new MacBook Pro, but it’s likely to be a mini LED, while ProMotion (variable refresh rate up to 120Hz) and Face ID. It is also said that it does not have Pro model elements such as SD card slot and HDMI port.

The price you care about is expected to be “slightly” higher than the current model. By the way, the M1 MacBook Air (2020) currently on sale starts at 115,280 yen (tax included), which is about half the price of the new MacBook Pro (14 inches).

The expectation that the new MacBook Air will have as much color variation as the 24-inch iMac was claimed by renowned leaker Jon Prosser. While other major media Bloomberg reported rumors of a “thin and light” high-end model, it also reported that it was considering a 15-inch model in the future.

I’m curious that Dylandkt suggests that the product name could be a “MacBook” without Air. Apple was also reportedly sending a survey to (discontinued) 12-inch MacBook users this summer, but it’s lighter, smaller and more portable than the new MacBook Pro, which has a stronger processor and heavier weight. A new MacBook with an emphasis on sex may come out soon.
