The virtual driving license has been approved by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior. The digital version of the driving license, which was recently included in the Kuwait Mobile ID app, has been approved. One week ago, the Kuwait Mobile ID application was updated to include information on driving licenses, birth certificates and the third dose of Kovid Wax.
More information was included as part of the further digitization of government services. With the advent of mobile ID, there was no need to carry a civil ID card. The Department of Transportation yesterday issued a directive to carry a driver’s license card while driving, even if the mobile ID app contains license information. The reason was the lack of technical approval from the Home Ministry. Accreditation of driving license is also beneficial for both locals and foreigners. The Vehicle Registration Certificate will soon be included in the Kuwait Mobile ID. Rana al-Faris clarified.
