Newly Elected President of Bangladesh Private University Association Emphasizes Social Reform
Md. Sabur Khan, the newly elected president of Bangladesh Private University Association, stressed the importance of social reform in a recent reception organized by Bangladesh Senior Citizens Welfare Association.
The event, held at the conference hall of Daffodil International School in Sobhanbagh, Dhanmondi, capital, took place on Wednesday, September 4. Khan was felicitated by the association for his contributions to society.
Khan emphasized that valuing people and humanity is crucial for social reform. He stated that an individual’s status should not be determined by their caste, but rather by their character and contributions to society.
He also called upon society to be kind to people of the third gender and to utilize their skills for the development of the country and society.

The event was presided over by Hossain Zillur Rahman, economist and former caretaker government adviser, who is also the newly elected chairman of the Senior Citizen Welfare Association. Other notable speakers included Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, and Engineer Md. Haque Fazlul, Secretary General of the Senior Citizen Welfare Association.
In his speech, Rahman highlighted the need for the government and society to come forward in providing healthcare facilities for the elderly. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring accessibility of special needs devices for older people, as is the case in other countries around the world.
