A five-hour truce to evacuate Ukrainian civilians has been implemented in two cities, including Mariupol, but attacks on civilians have intensified in other areas.

The Ukrainians are still determined to protect their country to the end.

Reporter Ho Jun-seok reports.

A huge pillar of fire soars from Russian artillery shelling on the transportation route to the capital, Kiiu, Chernihau.

Indiscriminate bombing of civilian facilities and residences around Kiiu has continued for the ninth day.

Attacks on civilian areas are war crimes under international law, but the Russian military does more than that.

[옌스 스톨텐베르크 / 나토 사무총장] : In addition to cluster bombs prohibited by the UN Convention, the use of other weapons that violate international law has also been reported.]

As a 64 km long procession of Russian troops awaits the general offensive in Kiiu, Russian tanks have been destroyed in various places due to the brave resistance of Ukraine, but civilians with guns are also increasingly sacrificed.

But the citizens are not backing down.

An evacuation procession of women and children continues.

Some citizens eventually leave their homeland on the news that even the Japoriza nuclear power plant has been taken hostage.

The solidarity of the people of the world is getting stronger.

The Germans welcome Ukrainian refugees into their homes without conditions.

[독일 베를린 시민 : 우크라이나 피난민 중 성인 두 명과 최대 세 명의 어린이를 집에 받아들이려고 합니다.]

Georgian people, who had been invaded by Russia 14 years ago, raised the flags of both countries and cheered as they listened to President Zelensky’s speech.

[볼로디미르 젤렌스키 / 우크라이나 대통령 : 제가 도망갔다는 소문을 매일 퍼뜨리지만 저는 여기 있습니다. 이렇게 같이요. 도망가지 않습니다.]

Massive protests against Russia were also held in the Czech Republic.
