Two days after being abducted from Chandgaon in Chittagong, the abductors left Abdullah, a three-and-a-half-year-old child, in Nasirabad area.
On Wednesday (September 6) around 1:30 PM, the police recovered from the road in the area adjacent to Panchlaish police station Nasirabad number two gate police box.
Earlier on Monday (September 4) around 10:30 am, the child was abducted from Ruhul Amin’s house in West Mohra Kula district of Chandgaon police station. Abdullah is the son of Mahbub Alam, a resident of Dubai in that area. Mahbub has three daughters and two sons. Among them, Abdullah is the fourth.
A CCTV footage collected by the police shows the child Abdullah walking behind a burqa-clad woman. The police believe that the woman wearing a burqa has kidnapped the child by tricking her into something.
According to police and local sources, child Abdullah’s mother filed a case at Chandgaon police station on Monday as a plaintiff in the kidnapping incident. After the case, the police conducted a continuous 36-hour operation after reviewing numerous CCTV footages of Madunaghat, Kaptai road head, Bayezid Bostami police station and Panchlaish police station. But during the operation, the local people saw the child walking on the side of the road in Nasirabad gate number two area and informed the police. After receiving the information, a police team including the case investigation officer of Chandgaon police station went and rescued the child Abdullah.
In this regard, Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Khairul Islam told Jago News that we have taken the utmost efforts to rescue the abducted child. Our mission was to rescue the abducted child Abdullah unharmed. The abductors were forced to leave the child in Nasirabad area due to continuous police operations. We were able to rescue him around 1.30pm and return him to his mother’s arms.
The OC said that operations are underway to arrest those involved in the abduction of child Abdullah. I hope to be able to arrest them. The burqa-clad woman has not yet been identified. However, he claimed that there is progress in the investigation.
