Thoma Bravo, a Chicago-based investment firm, has signed a multiyear agreement with Google to facilitate the adoption of artificial intelligence across its portfolio companies. The deal provides these companies, which hold a combined value of more than $300 billion, with access to Google Cloud’s AI capabilities.
According to reporting from Crain’s Chicago Business on April 15, 2026, the partnership is designed to integrate Google Cloud’s AI tools into the operational frameworks of the investment firm’s various holdings.
Expanding Enterprise AI Integration
The agreement allows Thoma Bravo’s portfolio companies to leverage Google Cloud’s AI stack, which includes generative AI models, a development platform, and custom-built chips. This infrastructure is intended to help organizations transform their operations through AI-powered applications.
This move follows a series of strategic AI partnerships established by Google Cloud in early 2026. On April 14, 2026, CIMB Niaga collaborated with Google Cloud and Artefact to debut enterprise AI agents for personalized financial advisory and customer service in Indonesia. Anthropic announced an expansion of its use of Google Cloud TPU chips on April 6, 2026, to increase its TPU capacity by multiple gigawatts.
Other recent collaborations include a March 10, 2026, partnership with Brahma AI to scale interactive digital humans for global enterprises, and a March 5, 2026, agreement with CVS Health. Through its subsidiary Health100, CVS Health is launching an AI-native consumer engagement platform to manage healthcare experiences.
Infrastructure and Regional Focus
The partnership with Thoma Bravo aligns with Google Cloud’s existing infrastructure investments in the Chicago area. In June 2024, Google Cloud and CME Group announced the launch of a Chicago area private cloud region.

The CME Group partnership, which began in 2021, has focused on migrating critical clearing applications to the cloud and enhancing cloud-based data platforms to provide real-time, customer-centric data for market participants.
Beyond the Chicago region, Google Cloud has continued to expand its global AI footprint, including the launch of a new cloud region in Thailand on January 21, 2026, to support an AI-driven digital economy.
Technical Implementation across Sectors
Google Cloud’s approach to enterprise AI often centers on its Vertex AI platform. For example, Citi has utilized Vertex AI to deliver generative AI capabilities across its global operations as of October 28, 2024.
By providing Thoma Bravo’s portfolio companies with similar access to these tools, Google Cloud is positioning its AI stack as a scalable solution for diversified investment portfolios. The integration of custom-built chips and planet-scale infrastructure allows these companies to implement AI at a scale consistent with their combined $300 billion valuation.
